Whilst walking their dog, Mark turned to Tomas and said that he couldn’t be happier and that he wanted to get married. In complete shock, Mark double checked he was serious and quickly accepted.
The couple knew they wanted somewhere quiet and exclusive so they could enjoy their day with family and friends. They also wanted a venue where they could party the night away into the early hours. After visiting many venues in the North West they came across West Tower. Realising it was special, they booked a viewing straight away.
In typical British weather, it was raining heavily when they arrived. However, this didn’t stop them falling in love with West Tower. Happy that the team would look after them for their big day, they immediately booked their date in the diary.
“From the moment we first visited West Tower we fell in love with the place and knew this is where we wanted our special day.” – Tomas
Style of the day
Pinterest was a huge source of inspiration for them. The couple chose blossom trees as table centrepieces and a rustic style soon emerged, fitting perfectly with the amazing views of the Lancashire countryside. Wooden accessories and a naked red velvet, Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle and salted caramel cake completed the look and their style was set.
Searching high and low for their outfits, they eventually found a family run tailor in Wilmslow providing bespoke suits. They loved the styles available and how the suits were put together. Both men chose the same navy blue tails with different waistcoats, Mark’s was dogtooth while Tom’s was tweed. The groomsmen wore matching dogtooth ties and their bridesmaid wore a matching navy blue dress.
The wedding
The couple decided to have their ceremony at West Tower. First their two nephews walked them down the aisle before a reading by both their sisters. Afterwards, they were delighted to find their dog Max waiting for them when they went outside. He had been brought to West Tower to be included in their photos, which was a wonderful surprise for them both.
The couple were thrilled with the saxophonist playing in the Cellar Bar during welcome refreshments of beer, bubbles and nibbles. In due time, the party returned upstairs, where the Ballroom had been totally transformed for their wedding breakfast of pâté, chicken supreme and chocolate plant pot. The speeches which followed were filled with a series of embarrassments and untruths, nonetheless very entertaining for everyone.
After enjoying a wonderful BBQ including burgers and ribs, the couple broke with tradition and chose not to have a first dance. Later, The Blue Pig Orchestra provided entertainment for everyone, playing a mixture of folk and blues into the early hours.
“The day itself could not have been any better if we had tried, it was absolutely faultless. Every guest has told us how amazing the day was and this was down to the amazing team at West Tower.” – Tomas
