Anna and Graeme met on a night out in Ormskirk one October evening. Two years later they spent a weekend in Edinburgh for the Bonfire Night celebrations. They headed to Calton Hill to see the fireworks the city is famous for. As the sun set, Graeme got down on one knee and proposed. Their celebrations, and plans for a West Tower Christmas wedding, truly began.
Once home, the couple quickly turned their thoughts to choosing their ideal venue. They knew they wanted to marry locally. When they saw that West Tower had an open evening the following week, they were delighted. It was only the second place they visited but they instantly fell in love with the stunning venue. They booked a date straight away.

The style of the day
From the start, glitter and sparkle were two of Anna’s must haves and she loved the twinkling Christmas trees at West Tower. Blossom trees, floating candles and gold glitter hearts decorated the tables. Sequinned tablecloths added yet more sparkle to their West Tower Christmas wedding. To add a personal touch, they named tables after Everton legends and played Z-Cars as they entered the room for their wedding breakfast.
At The Liverpool and Northwest Wedding Show, Anna spotted a gown on a mannequin and immediately began the search to find a local stockist of the Mori Lee dress. When she eventually found one, it was the first and only gown she tried and she instantly felt like a princess. Her mum and sister both agreed that she had found her dream dress. A stunning tiara and heart shaped diamond earrings completed her outfit.
The groom and groomsmen all wore a three piece blue suit and brown shoes. To stand out slightly, Graeme chose a tweed suit that suited the winter setting perfectly.
The wedding
On the day itself, Anna’s dad walked her down the aisle at St Anne’s RC Church in Ormskirk. After the traditional ceremony, full of laughter and upbeat hymns, everyone made their way to nearby West Tower.
Following West Tower’s recommendation, Anna and Graeme booked Steve Mitchell as their DJ and were delighted with his professional, personal service. They danced their way into the Ballroom to Coldplay’s Sky Full of Stars and chose the same track for their first dance. It was wonderful to see their friends and family enjoying themselves just as much as they were.
Later in the evening, the West Tower buffet served from the cosy Leather Lounge offered something for everyone, including guests with special diets. To keep the party going, the couple even laid on a late night feast at 1am.
“It was the best day of our lives, full of laughter, dancing, happiness and love. It truly was a magical day in a special place with the people we love.” – Anna
