A Spring wedding at West Tower

Scott proposed to Laura after six years together, whilst they were on a night out in Manchester. When looking for a venue for their big day, they both had different ideas. Above all Scott wanted a grand looking building. However Laura wanted somewhere with a simple yet elegant interior and lots of guest bedrooms. Despite visiting lots of venues, they couldn’t find anywhere that ticked all their boxes. Following a friend’s recommendation, they booked a private viewing at West Tower. As soon as they arrived, they knew they’d finally found their venue – loving the space and views from the terrace. They immediately booked a date, choosing a Friday in May and couldn’t wait for their Spring wedding the following year!

“The staff we met were really helpful and friendly and we pretty much made the decision to book then and there” – Laura

The Style of the Day

Not only were magazines great for ideas but also Pinterest was equally important. It helped Laura find suppliers to bring her ideas to life!

The pastel colours of lavender & dusty rose gave a relaxed, country feel. Similarly the neutral décor of the Ballroom allowed them to truly make it their own.

Flowers, candlesticks and framed photographs decorated the tables in addition to mementos of their beloved beagle, Eddie. Most important for him to be a part of their spring wedding day, he featured on the cake alongside models of Laura and Scott.

Their placecards were wooden hearts which doubled-up as favours. Finished with a sprig of dried lavender tied with twine, they definitely fitted the country theme.

Taking her Mum, Scott’s Mum, her three bridesmaids and her big sister, Laura had plenty of help choosing her dress. She had a style in mind in the hope that she’d find just what she was looking for. In fact she found it in the second shop they visited; the fitted lace gown by Enzoani was absolutely perfect! Her sister’s earrings were her ‘something borrowed’, whilst her mum’s wedding garter was her ‘something old and blue’

The Wedding

The Bridal Suite was not in use the day before their wedding. Consequently, Laura and her bridesmaids got ready in the spacious room from early in the morning at West Tower.

Their spring wedding ceremony was a very personal service. A string quartet played Pachelbel’s Cannon in D in the background as her Dad walked Laura down the aisle. During the ceremony both her sisters gave a reading too.

Afterwards, the spring sunshine welcomed the wedding party outside for drinks and canapes whilst the string quartet continued to entertain them. Returning back inside later, the Ballroom had been transformed by the team at West Tower for their Wedding Breakfast.

Booking their DJ after meeting him at an Open Evening at West Tower, he truly got to know them both and how they met really well. Consequently had some great ideas for their evening entertainment!

They chose ‘Grow Old with Me’ by Tom Odell as their first dance because they felt the lyrics and sentiment were perfect. Afterwards, the music continued all night in fact there wasn’t a square inch of space on the dancefloor all evening – definitely down to the DJ!

“Everything felt under control from start to finish and we were given time just to relax and enjoy our day away from our guests too" – Laura
